If you are like me, I am not a breakfast fan but I am still trying to meet my daily protein goals. In comes this recipe! Or if you just want to have an indulgent treat you can feel good about while winding down at the end of the night, I’ve got you! I have tinkered with this base recipe endlessly to make it as close to the real thing as possible. I hit perfection when my husband, unprompted, started requesting I make it; he notoriously does not like healthy alternative “dupes”.

This base recipe has endless options and flavor combinations-the sky is the limit. However, the texture and nutritional profile of the ice cream itself is dependent on following the recipe exactly as written. It is so easy and minimal ingredients- I promise you won’t need or want to change it.

Half Pint: 37.5 grams of protein | 343 calories

🛒 Products You’ll Need (trust me this make all the difference):

  • Ninja Creami Ice Cream Maker. I use this one here (and you will not need to adjust the recipe measurements). This one will work too, you will just need to half all of the ingredients.

  • Handheld Frother. This one mixes all of the ingredients in the Creami Pint every.single.time. No lumps, no clumps!

  • Extra Creami Pint containers. Totally optional, as your machine should come with pint containers. I promise you, you will want back-ups in your freezer. Nothing is worse than settling into a Netflix binge and realizing you have no pre-frozen pints at the ready.


📝 Ingredients:

  • 2 scoops of Protein Powder. To make vanilla ice cream, use this. To make chocolate ice cream, use this.

  • 2 Cups Fairlife Whole Milk

  • 1 Scoop Collagen Peptides. I use this one.

  • 2 TBSP sweenter. This one is magic and makes all the difference. You can add more of less depending on taste.

  • Pinch of Sea Salt. If you are feeling real fancy, sprinkle some of this on top of the final product.

🧊 Instructions:

  1. Blend all ingredients together until smooth. You can do it right in the Ninja Creami Pint.

  2. Freeze flat for at least 8 hours (or overnight).

  3. Once frozen, insert the pint into your Ninja Creami and spin on "Lite Ice Cream."

  4. If it’s crumbly, add a splash of milk and re-spin until luxuriously smooth.

  5. Optional: If you want mix-ins (you do!!) you will, after your pint has run a full “lite ice cream” cycle, you will scrape down the sides and create a well in the center of the pint, but not all the way to the bottom. Add in your mix-ins and run a a full “mix-in" cycle.
